Join President Kelly for the return of PilotTalks, our thought-provoking evening of storytelling featuring short talks from dynamic thinkers in the UP community, all on the theme of hope, renewal, and transformation. This year’s programming has an entrepreneurial bent, as our three speakers will share inspiring stories of launching new programs, new foundations, and new businesses with the goal of making a difference.
Thursday, April 3, from 7-8 p.m. | Buckley Center Auditorium
We’ll hear from Ruth Dittrich, associate professor of economics, who will talk about launching the campus’ MoveUP program to curb waste on student move-in and move-out days. UP alum Tommy Pham ’09, ’11, will discuss how he established the Raiden Science Foundation to accelerate research and development for therapies targeting debilitating rare diseases, such as the one afflicting his young son. And we’ll be joined by Kim Malek, founder and CEO of Salt & Straw ice cream.
Come early for the wine and cheese social in Dundon-Berchtold lounge from 6-7 p.m.
