Please Load Scholarly Activity on the Portal (May 31)

April 14, 2025

Faculty members are reminded to load their scholarly activity on the portal in PilotsUP by May 31. Data obtained through the portal is important as the University applies for grants, honors societies, etc. Faculty members also use their school’s report on the home tab of the Scholarly Activity Portal to send the data to their respective deans as a part of annual self-evaluation. Rhodes & Marshall Scholarship Nominations Needed

Undergraduate Research Awards: Nominate Now

The Provost’s Office and the Office of Undergraduate Scholarly Engagement are requesting nominations for two awards to be given on Founders’ Day: the Outstanding Undergraduate Research Faculty Mentor Award and Outstanding Graduating Senior in Undergraduate Research Award. The Summer Research Poster Session is Returning to Campus. (Oct. 25)

The Office of Undergraduate Scholarly Engagement will host the University’s annual Summer Research Poster Session on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. The goals of the Summer Research Poster Session are twofold: to celebrate undergraduate research conducted by UP students during the summer, and to create awareness of research experiences that other students might be interested to explore. Kiya Riverman, Environmental Science, was awarded a grant for $489,935.00 on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense, for her research “Impacts of spatial-temporal precipitation, snowpack properties, and snowmelt variability on alpine landscapes and runoff.” February 15, 2025.

Christina Astorga, Theology, served as a Member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Moral Theology. February 26 – July 7, 2019. Astorga also served as the Head of the Local Arrangement Committee for the Catholic Theological Society of America. June 13, 2024 – June 15, 2025

Mohammad Arbabian, Business, published “Optimal Inventory Management Policies When Supply Is Bundled.” 9th North American Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management, Washington D.C. June, 2024.
