In November 2020, the month of All Saints, All Souls, and the Día de los Muertos, Fr. Richard Rutherford, C.S.C., theology emeritus, presented an educational webinar for the North American Catholic Cemetery Conference on the requested topic “Why burying the dead is a Corporal Work of Mercy,” available on the Conference YouTube site.

Natalie Nelson-Marsh, communication studies, presented “The Mental Mile Podcast: A Discussion of Gender and Career,” November 2020.

Rebecca Smith, education, contributed “Team teaching and learning: A model of effective professional development for teachers” (with Nicole Ralston, Jacqueline Waggoner, and student coauthor Zulema Naegele) in The Professional Educator, 43(1), 80-90, November 2020.

Stephanie Salomone, mathematics, presented “This We Believe: Personal and Mathematical Axiomatic Systems” at the San Jose State Mathematics Colloquium, December 2020.

Susan Mcdaniel and Nicole Hanig, Music, will be performing on the concert series “Chatter PDX” on June 1 at 10:30 a.m. at the Pacific Center with Hilary Oseas, viola and James Shields, clarinet, both of the Oregon Symphony. Kiya Riverman, Environmental Science, was awarded a grant for $489,935.00 on behalf of the U.S. Department of Defense, for her research “Impacts of spatial-temporal precipitation, snowpack properties, and snowmelt variability on alpine landscapes and runoff.” February 15, 2025.

Christina Astorga, Theology, served as a Member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Moral Theology. February 26 – July 7, 2019. Astorga also served as the Head of the Local Arrangement Committee for the Catholic Theological Society of America. June 13, 2024 – June 15, 2025
